Makes you wonder how the "faithful men of old" will cope in the New World on being told that concubines and multiple wives are a no-no.

I Waited Until My Wedding Night To Lose My Virginity And I Wish I Hadn't...
by Divergent ini found this article interesting & just wanted to share.
after going through my teenage years trying to be the perfect jw, i realized that trying to live up to the standards imposed on me have been for worse & not for better.
i was feeling miserable, repressed, unfulfilled, with a great lack of self confidence & self esteem.

"Psychiatrist is an Admission of Defeat"
by new boy in“the christian witnesses of jehovah are the best oriented, happiest and most contended group of people on the face of the earth.
so why on earth would any good follower need the help of a mental health professional?” the society tells about the evils of seeking help from outside their organization.
"as a rule, for a christian to go to a worldly psychiatrist is an admission of defeat.

Narrow mindedness annoying
by Lost in the fog innone of the brothers and sisters in indonesia were hurt or lost in the recent disaster, according to one of the friends who added "we were all praying for them as soon as we heard it on the news, as you do.
and what about the rest of the population?
i know its nothing new in their attitude to the world outside in general, but it makes me so angry!

Thanks for letting me rant, I just needed to vent about it somewhere safe from criticism.

Our WT study conductor always got up on the platform and welcomed everyone to the 'Bible study by means of the Watchtower.'
If the public talk chairman handed over by saying 'we invite Bro. Dick to take us into the Watchtower study.' He immediately started off by saying that 'this isn't a study of the Watchtower magazine but our Bible study by means of the Watchtower....'
I remember he got hot under the collar with me because all I did was ask him why the organisation book referred to his position in the congregation as the 'Watchtower Study overseer' and the handbills we used to distribute listed the meeting as the 'Watchtower study'?
I got told off for being picky, and my hand became invisible if I even put it up.

If I try to flag up anything in the news about JWs and child abuse, my friends and family throw back that WT quote. To the ordinary witness it means that such things can not happen inside a "spiritual paradise".
To which I say well why do elders serve on judicial committees dealing with all sorts of "perceived sins"? Because sometimes these things happen.
But they reply back that only apostates would take the society to court because they don't care about bringing reproach upon Jehovah’s name.
In other words, you can't win with this brainwashed attitude. The Society is right, me and everyone else is wrong.

Those awkward magazines
by Addison0998 ini’m sure we all remember those really weird, awkward magazines we were expected to place in service.
and it was before we are had the website or the thing on the back to fall back on.
imagine being a 12 year old girl, and having to place magazines on god’s view of pornography, sex, homosexuality.

Lost in the fog
I often wondered what householders thought back in the day when they bought the magazines and in the case of the Watchtower came across two weeks study articles inside on disfellowshipping because of porneia or the like.
Worse is the mindset of the average witness that these people who opened the door half asleep on a Saturday morning and who said "no" to your Awake! on Pornography would die at Armageddon because (quote) they had rejected their only opportunity to hear the message of God's Kingdom!

there hasn't been a great deal to report on except for this recent post that has been made.
i may get outed but that's no loss.

As far as I know no other religion or religious group gives any thought to the obscure writings of a long dead old testament prophet. Only the WTS who have produced reams of speculative articles down through the years. Why? To tie up the rank and file so that they think their understanding makes them the only true religion on the planet, and diverts their attention away from helping out people in a real sense like genuine Christians are called upon to do. Interpretation of obscure passages is all guesswork at best but doing it makes the F&DS look special in the eyes of the average JW.
Yawn. We've seen it all before.

New Ezekiel Book Clarification
by johnamos inhttps://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/pure-worship/summary-of-clarifications/.
is christendom the antitype of ancient apostate jerusalem?.
previous understanding: unfaithful jerusalem is a prophetic type of christendom.

One of our friends in Canada posted the following message to their circle of friends. So what do you think of it?
"In our meeting last night, the Coordinator read a letter from the Canadian Branch about the reorganized territories. All the territories in the Fraser Valley from Hope to Vancouver, about a hundred miles in all, have been reorganized to create larger congregations and improve the use of Kingdom Halls.
Some congregations have been deleted, others changed and re-named. It'll be a heartwrenching move for many of the brothers but we will all do it. Changes are effective from November 3, 2018. There is always a good reason for these changes since Jehovah God is making the decisions!"
